Olympics Inquiry Term 3
In our Olympics Inquiry we had to design and build a stadium as part of Technology and then find out some researched information about an athlete, sport, event, country or stadium to share with the class. We then displayed our work in the school library.

Reading
In Reading this term we are focusing on developing our comprehension skills using Bloom's Taxonomy. Bloom's Taxonomy helps us understand the information we have read so that we can use and apply different thinking skills to solve problems such as helping endangered animals and caring for the environment.
We even have some friends from Matai joining us for reading this term.

Rhys and Connor's Lego Bridge
We've built a suspension bridge. A suspension bridge is good for cars travelling across and for going across rivers. The large wire cables help keep the bridge stable so it doesn't collapse. We've built a ramp so cars can easily travel up and down. We've also attached a crane to our bridge to help out with crashes or fires.

Lego Bridges
Great excitement in Pohutukawa this afternoon as we started to build our Lego Bridges. Our bridges must hold 10 weights, be earthquake resistant, must be easily accessed by cars and other vehicles and must be creatively designed. This activity proved to be a great test of our problem solving and cooperative skills.

Wheels Day at St Patrick's
Today was very special because it was Wheels Day. There was certainly a lot of excitement with scooters, bikes, rip sticks, skateboards and even remote controlled cars taking part. What fun!
